BGS Nutrient Wise Demonstrations

BGS Nutrient Wise Demonstrations

Main Nutrient Wise Demonstration site, Sandford, Crediton

On Farm Workshop on the potential of compost and other farm produced organic manures focusing on organic matter and nutrient content.

Morning and afternoon sessions (10am and 2pm) on Wednesday 6th June.  All are welcome to attend with free lunch provided.

This is the third year of having visitors to the Nutrient Wise Demonstration events and we have had really good feedback on all events over the past years. The focus of the event is on grassland reseeding and manures, also focusing on alternative wastes such as green compost.

  • In summer 2009 clover demonstrations were establishment via 4 methods of establishment including applying the seed in a slurry tanker and using a direct drill.
  • In October 2010 grass reseed demonstration plots were established to compare reseeding via direct drilling compared to a full plough reseed.
  • In Summer 2012 demonstration plots are going to be established to show manure applications including alternative wastes such as green compost.

Costings of all of these demonstrations will be provided. There will also be an Information update on the mini demo sites that we are setting up across the south west looking at a whole variety of nutrient wise ideas.

BASIS points may be available.

If you would like to attend please contact Briony Burge on 01363 776162 or briony.burge@creedy associates.com
