BGS Somerset Spring Farm Walk
This year being held at Volis Farm, Hestercombe, Taunton, TA2 8HS
British Grassland Society, RABDF and DairyCo are to host this free discussion and farm walk in Somerset.
Caroline Spencer will explain how she manages her 280 spring-calving Jersey crossbred cows on a grass based system with very little concentrate.
The main topics for the day will include running a grazing-based system on a dry farm, calving heifers at 24 months with no housing, switching to block spring calving and out-wintering and transition cow management.
