British Cattle Breeders Conference

British Cattle Breeders conference

Farming and Genetics - let's inspire the next generation is the theme chosen by the current BCBC Chairman Andy Dodd for the next British Cattle Breeders Conference. The 2018 conference will celebrate the club's 70th Anniversary, and will be held once again at the Telford Hotel & Golf Resort, Shropshire from 22nd-24th January.

The conference will focus on practical cattle breeding whilst inspiring the next generation of cattle breeders. We are pleased to announce an exciting line-up of speakers including Andrew Ward MBE, Mark Smith, Mark Roach, Prof. David Kenny, Alison Glasgow, Lars Nielsen, Heather Wildman, David Corrie-Close, Roger Hildreth, Dan Weigel, Dan Burling, Chris Proudfoot and Prof. John Duprè, all covering a variety of topics from fertility and profitable management within the suckler herd, genomics in beef and dairy, getting the next generation involved and genome editing of livestock.

The British Cattle Breeders Club is a unique mixture of farmers, scientists and industry personnel all dedicated to the advancement of cattle breeding in both the dairy and beef sectors. The conference provides a unique opportunity to meet other breeders, scientists and industry professionals within a warm and friendly environment.
