Cheshire GS Spring Farm Walk

Spring Farm Walk: Clotton Hall Farm, Clotton, Tarporley.

7.00 pm, Tuesday 30th April

Sponsored by Genus

This year's Spring Farm Walk at Clotton Hall Farm will be hosted by Rob and Henry Cooke.  The Cooke's run three businesses from Clotton Hall

The farm, run by Rob, is currently 247 acres with 240 milking cows. It is run as a flying herd with 90 cows calving in the spring and 150 calving in the autumn.  Everything is served to British Blue with calves sold at 4-5 weeks. The herd is run on a grass based system with a mixture of breeds. There is a grazing platform of 48ha that is intensively grazed with no silage taken from it, forage is then brought in from two other blocks of land that are within a mile of the farm.

Clotton Hall Dairy is run by Henry. Building work on the creamery started in May 2016 with the first sale being completed in October 2017. Over 500 pots of Clotted Cream per week are now being sold with sales growing consistently.

The third business - Corkscrew Hire is a catering equipment hire business run by Rob and Henry’s parents - Andrew and Elizabeth, it was established in 1997 and has grown consistently to its current position providing equipment for over 2000 events per year with 6 full time members of staff.

Please join us for an interesting evening with hot food and refreshments following the farm walk.
