Monday 12th September 2016        11am – 3pm

Join AHDB Beef & Lamb and Elizabeth Stockdale from Newcastle University for this timely meeting on understanding and evaluating good soil health.

Dr Elizabeth Stockdale is a soil scientist from Newcastle University who has been involved in various projects in the UK and Australia on how to improve soil biology and health.  She provides practical guidance to producers on how to interpret tests and what they can do to improve soil quality.  For example, the need to reduce cultivations and improve organic matter to improve soil biology.

Elizabeth was involved in the Healthy Grassland Soils initiative that AHDB funded in 2014.  She is involved in a five year AHDB-funded project to increase understanding of soil biology and soil health. The project will cover five of the six sectors of AHDB: Beef & Lamb, Dairy, Cereals & Oilseeds, Potatoes and Horticulture.

This event also provides an opportunity to get an update on AHDB Grass and Forage Research.
