Maize companion crop and drilling techniques demo day, by kind permission of Reaseheath College

Under-sowing Maize with a cover crop may act to reduce soil erosion and nutrient loss. Reaseheath College are hosting this informative event, demonstrating trial work carried out in conjunction with two commercial companies to investigate companion crop and drilling options for maize.

This event will include a field demo looking at: 

1.      Improving soil structure for following crops and offering a post Maize opportunity.

2.      New ‘one-pass’ drilling technique using innovative Pottinger Aerosem drill.

3.      Cover crop species evaluation and demonstration
