BGS Competition – Don’t miss the chance to become the next Grassland Farmer of the Year

Tuesday, May 10, 2016

The first round deadline for entrants to the BGS Grassland Farmer of the Year competition 2016 is Friday 3rd June. BGS direct and affiliated local society members are encouraged to act now to make sure they don’t miss the chance of getting their entry or nomination competed by the deadline.

The competition seeks to recognise successes in grassland farming by seeking out farmers who demonstrate overall excellence in grassland management and are successful contributors towards profitable and sustainable farming practices. It is open to all systems of grassland farming and is judged impartially through submitting a standard entry form which allows the judges to assess entrants comparatively.

Those entering the first round will have an opportunity to go forward to win their region. Regional winners will then be assessed by the UK-wide judging team and have the chance to be selected as one of the three national finalists, who will be notified and visited in August.

For more information on the competition please click here or contact us via the details here.

The competition entry form can be submitted on-line here (where a pdf copy can also be found).
