Dorset Members Evening

Monday, January 5, 2015

Members of Dorset Grassland Society are treated to hearing from a selection of their own members as they reinvigorate the traditional annual members evening.

The meeting that is taking place on 6th January, 7.30pm at Kingston Maurward College will hear from:

Tom Mitchell, a contract farmer running an Autumn calving herd at Beauliea, whilst also helping to manage the family farm near Gillingham and working as a consultant for Andersons.

Paul Dyer, who runs a small herd of Hereford cattle grazed on parkland and a ‘glamping’ business on the Purbecks, as a diversification from his dairy.

Rob Garrett, who has changed his dairying system from high yielding Holsteins to block calving, grazing system in the past few years and will be discussing the challenges and benefits.
