We are sorry to have heard that BGS Past-President (1972-1973) David 'DJ' Griffiths passed away suddenly in hospital near Aberystwyth on January 15th. DJ was former Deputy Director of the Welsh Plant Breeding Station during the 1960's and early '70's. He was Acting Director for a year or so between Prof PT Thomas and Prof JP Cooper. Our sincere condolences go to his son Wynne.
