Grass and Forage Science jumps up journal rankings

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

The BGS and EGF scientific journal has scored a 2008 Impact factor of 1.378, a big leap from its 2007 Impact Factor of 1.035 and it is now ranked 20th out of 49 journals in the Agronomy subject area - in 2007 it was 24th.

The journal received 124 cites in 2008 to 90 papers published in 2006 and 2007. When those with papers to publish are considering where they will publish the Impact Factor is a key factor and hopefully more will choose Grass and Forage Science as their first choice.

The journal is published for us by Wiley-Blackwell and the journal manager Martin Tilly says: "This represents strong progress for the journal and well done to the editorial team and board, and in particular to the editor John Milne."

BGS is grateful for John Milne's hard work on the journal, which has seen it progress rapidly in recent years, he will be a hard act to follow when he retires in December.

Anyone interested in becoming a co-editor, with the role being split between two people at an input of about 1 day/week each, should contact Martin Tilly for full details mtilly@wiley.com
