Measuring Grass Growth Using Satellite Information

Measuring Grass Growth Using Satellite Information

Thursday, May 18, 2017

The increasing utility of satellite information means that is now possible to monitor and manage agricultural systems remotely. This project examines the feasibility of measuring grass growth using remote sensing technologies – GRASSS‑Tech (see example). This approach aims to provide a cost-effective method that will enable farmers to improve management, yield and nutritive value of grass swards.

GRASSS-Tech is a business-led collaboration between ADAS, Precision Decisions, and AHDB, which is part funded by Innovate UK

As part of the project, a survey has been produced to define the characteristics producers would like access to from this type of system. Click here to take the survey.
