Stapledon Innovation and Technology Fellowships

Stapledon Innovation and Technology Fellowships

Wednesday, August 17, 2016

At the 2016 Livestock Event the Trust and BGS announced the launch of the Stapledon Innovation and Technology Interaction Fellowships.

This exciting new scheme is intended to provide awards to individuals, resident in the UK, to support studies of innovative practices in the grassland and forage sector, so that new knowledge or skills may be obtained and applied to the benefit of all. Up to £3000 is available per award. Successful applicants will be required to help communicate their new knowledge to others.

Until now, the Trust's awards have focused mainly on international support for grassland scientists and conferences. The new Fellowship scheme recognises that innovation not only comes from research but importantly from the industry itself. The scheme’s goal is to ensure that information about new practices is transferred effectively through the industry, and will support a wide breadth of topics from the grassland sector.

More information will be available on the BGS website soon.
