The British Grassland Society’s premier event, The Summer Meeting - is fast approaching and will be hosted by Cornwall Grassland Society from 12 to 15 July. There is a diverse line-up of farm and technical visits, plus entertainment and the annual BGS Gala Dinner.

The National Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs (England and Wales) is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to work as Agricultural and Rural Issues (AGRI) officer, who can work with young aspiring members of the organisation. The post holder will be an ambassador for the Federation with partner organisations, high profile industry/ rural leaders, government agencies and NFYFC's corporate sponsors.

New AHDB branding launched - Tuesday, June 23, 2015

New branding and a proposed new way of working for the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) was formally launched at Cereals event earlier this month.

This will see AHDB’s sector-focused activity delivered under six brands, AHDB Beef and Lamb, AHDB Cereals and Oilseeds, AHDB Dairy, AHDB Horticulture, AHDB Pork and AHDB Potatoes. Cross sector projects will be delivered as AHDB.

Request to help the Environment Agency - Tuesday, June 23, 2015

The Environment Agency have recently began a project to design and deliver a tool to display local environmental information for farmers, and those who influence them.

The project aims to provide a new digital service that better meets the need of the farming community in relation to Water Quality.

The Environment Agency wish to set up a group of potential users to contribute to the project.

More Pasture for Life meat suppliers needed - Thursday, June 18, 2015

The Pasture-Fed Livestock Association is looking for more farmer suppliers to meet growing demand for meat from cattle and sheep fed only on grass and forage crops their entire lives.

The farmer-led organisation started in 2011 to champion the virtues of meat reared this way through its ‘Pasture for Life’ brand. It now has 180 members across the UK, with 45 certified farmers adhering to its production standards, and 18 certified butchers through which their meat is being sold.
